CONTRACT - Test Engineer AirCell

Summary :

The CONTRACT Test Engineer will be responsible for quality assurance and testing of internal and vendor supplied deliverables, including software, associated with embedded Linux based telecommunications system products. The Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing the testing of the application and embedded software and hardware developed by other engineers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

Verification/Validation, Software and Regression Test of graphical user interfaces, wireless telecommunications protocols including data communications (incl. modems, etc), PBX switching systems, 802.11b/g, and VoIP/SIP testing on various proprietary microcomputers and devices;

Create test plans, test scripts and test cases for product validation and bug fixes based on system requirements;

Identify and effectively troubleshoot combined hardware/software/network problems and implement appropriate corrections;

Executes assigned test cases;

Iterative testing of Software and Hardware deliverables

TCP/IP Network protocol testing (DHCP, TCP, UDP, etc.)

VoIP protocol testing (SIP, RTP, )

Satellite service interoperability (Inmarsat, Iridium, etc)

System level testing; Qualifications:

Industry experience in wired telecommunications and VoIP/SIP;

TCP/IP network testing and dignostic skills;

Satellite communication experience a plus



Minimum Experience:

7 + years of Software, Firmware , and/or System testing experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering
