Contract UX Designer Seahorse Bioscience
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED This position will be responsible for extending the design of a friendly and powerful user experience for the next generation of Seahorse instruments. You will focus on learning the key elements of the present user experience to be able to define the design for expansion in the areas of file manipulation, graphic display, and modified customer workflows.
You will work closely with Product Management and software development to translate customer needs into elements of user interface design. You will have responsibility for the success of continued ease-of-use as we add more capabilities to the software.
Responsibilities will include:
Organize existing user interface elements (global behaviors, graphics, styles, etc.)
Produce information architecture and task-flow diagrams.
Create design specifications.
Build storyboards, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
Convert marketing requirements into actionable items that can be implemented in a user interface.
Work with others in Product Management, Applications and Engineering groups to design user interface prototypes.
Interface with the software development team at all phases to integrate user interface design.
Design an efficient and intuitive user experience by defining workflows, navigation, and visual displays.
Design and format data flow and analysis to generate easy to interpret displays and analysis tools.
Define UI structure (windows), pull downs and object oriented interface using customer, marketing and internal user inputs.
This position requires a college degree, with emphasis on user experience design with a minimum of 5 years? experience in design of user interfaces.
Individual should have experience with the following:
Solid understanding and proven track record for creating graphical UIs in similar types of scientific instruments.
Prior experience in design of file management or data storage interfaces.
Demonstrated ability to using UI prototypes to drive productive review and definition of UX experience alternatives.
Prior experience with touch screen interfaces, mobile apps and Windows 7 operating environments.
Ability to work well in a team environment with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
