The Sr. Systems Product Engineer will serve as the product development and manufacturing interface between Calxeda design, systems, software and manufacturing teams and contract manufacturing (CMs), as well as serve as a lead member of Calxeda's New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This person will work closely with the supply chain management team and act as liaison with contract manufacturing (CMs) to ensure a seamless transition through development into manufacturing and production.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for understanding server-system development, integration, and deployment requirements and both developing and maintaining the necessary processes to ensure Calxeda server systems meet manufacturability, reliability, cost and quality requirements. S/he will coordinate with associated team members to evaluate process controls and implement yield enhancements across production and be ultimately responsible to plan and execute product reliability requirements including: development of related hardware, interacting with internal teams to perform product characterization and optimize product yield, and working directly with out-sourced manufacturing for continuous product cost reductions.
Qualifications:
--Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
--7-10 years of experience in systems manufacturing environment with working knowledge of product development through contract manufacturing and ODM deployment including concerns with application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
Experience with:
--Developing manufacturing plans based on input from design and marketing documentation.
--Responsible for initial on-going cost and quality improvements including yields, RMA resolution, component improvements, and dual-sourcing for continuity of supply.
--Creating, preparing, and modifying product-manufacturing documents for new product development, manufacturing engagement and managing Engineering Changes releases.
--Create and manage Production/Vendor Manufacturing Specifications.
--Collaborating with the Test Engineer principally in the design and building of test fixtures and development of automated test procedures.
--Summarizing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from test, SPCs, and yield results. Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the Engineering, Quality, and Product Management.
