VersionOne is a 10-year old, fast growing software company in Alpharetta, Georgia. Our accounting and finance group is growing to meet the expanding needs of the Company. The Controller will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting functions, supervising our staff of accounting team members and help build a top quality team over the next 12 months that serves as a critical resource to our internal and external stakeholders.As a venture capital-backed, growth-stage company, we offer an attractive career opportunity for the candidate who welcomes new challenges, thinks strategically while executing with quality, takes initiative and is an effective leader and team contributor. Responsibilities:
--Manage the accuracy of day-to-day activities in accounts payable, invoicing/billing, collections, and general accounting functions
--Calculate and analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
--Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for senior management and external investors
--Manage the preparation of annual audit and tax documentation requirements
--Assist in company financial planning and budget management functions
--Perform various other financial transactions for the preparation of financial statements
--Provide and implement recommendations for procedural improvements
--Monitor and improve the implementation of accounting internal controls
--Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
--Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
--7-10+ years accounting / finance experience
--Reliable, self-starter with a solid work ethic
--Excellent communication skills
--Experience with managing a small accounting team
--Technology interest and aptitude
--Analytical with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
--Highly detailed oriented and organized
--Ability to meet assigned deadlines
--Understanding of GAAP accounting policies and regulations
--Experience with revenue recognition and ideally VSOE SOP 97-2 experience
--Proficiency with using and managing mid-sized ERP applications (i.e. Intacct)
--Experience with Salesforce.com is highly desirable
--Advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel is highly desirable
--BS in Accounting or Finance
--CPA license required
