Controller and Director of Finance Arkadium
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Arkadium?s Controller & Director of Finance is a hands-on, dynamic position for a passionate and focused finance professional. This role will create value by 1) efficiently directing and executing the organization's accounting functions, and 2) working directly with the CFO on recurring and ad hoc financial analysis projects including budgeting/forecasting work, variance-to-plan and various operational analyses and dashboards for senior management and shareholders.
Accounting responsibilities for this position are comprehensive, including overseeing all accounting management and information systems; maintaining/refining Arkadium?s accounting principles/practices/procedures; ensuring timely and appropriate journal entries/reporting; serving as the primary point of contact with our auditors; maximizing liquidity via careful ongoing analysis and by maintaining an excellent relationship with our lenders.

Shape and support the company?s financial management and information systems. Far from being a pencil-pusher, you will partner with senior managers to empower sound business decisions.
Leverage your expert knowledge of accounting principles to guide the company?s revenue recognition and other accounting policies.
Monitor and optimize the company's cash position, including the administration of the company?s line of credit.
Prepare financial analyses for various internal and external audiences (e.g., tracking project expenses vs. budget; overall firm actuals vs. prior year vs. budget; forward-looking variance-to-plan)
Go beyond existing business processes by investigating the company?s expense structure for innovative ways to drive the bottom line.

What you need to be successful in this role:
A CPA designation and at least 6 years of hands-on experience in an accounting role with escalating levels of responsibility.
Complete fluency in Quickbooks & Excel. NetSuite and other finance software a plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. The ability to convey financial information with clarity and brevity to both expert and non-finance audiences.
Sector expertise with media/tech/gaming preferred; you will feel at home in this role if you have experience with online advertising, licensing and syndication.
Confidence, poise and entrepreneurial drive are a must.
