What you?ll do?.
Oversee all aspects of the accounting function
Manage the monthly close process and prepare monthly financial reports
Manage the annual budget process and prepare quarterly forecasts
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for contract negotiations, pricing decisions and capital investments
Coordinate our annual external audit
Manage our cash flow forecasting process
Coordinate local, state and federal government tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements with the corporate office
Ensure that invoicing is performed timely and accurately
Monitor accounts receivable collections and establish reserves for doubtful accounts
Ensure accounts payable are recorded and paid in a timely manner
Coordinate the preparation of corporate board presentations
Maintain the general ledger and all monthly closing requirements in accordance with GAAP
Prepare, review, and analyze accounting transactions to ensure financial integrity in conjunction with accounting personnel and accounting systems
Prepare and analyze the balance sheets, income statements, reconciliations and other financial reports and ensure that they are accurate, complete and timely including the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package
Assist in the preparation, issuance and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory transactions and coordinate the physical inventory count at year-end
Troubleshoot and maintain financial systems ensuring accurate flow of data and validity of transactions
Coordinate treasury functions including maintenance of bank signatories, initiate wire and ACH transfers, manage bank audits and monitor covenant compliance
Manage the day-to-day cash reporting function.
Oversee fixed asset reporting and safeguarding of company assets
Who we?re looking for? We are looking for a Controller overseeing all facets of accounting operations, including GAAP compliance, SOX compliance,the monthly close cycle, financial reporting, internal controls, establish the necessary procedures and controls to ensure the accuracy of the physical inventory. Coordinate the quarterly reconciliation of the physical inventory to the general ledger, and other annual audit processes. The Controller is a hands on, detailed manager who oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, tax compliance, and cash management. The selected candidate must understand the demands of, and be adaptable to, a high-growth start-up environment. No task is too big or too small!
7-10 years of experience in finance/accounting, including 3+ years of experience in public accounting, preferably at a big four firm
CPA desired, MBA a plus
Strong knowledge of inventory management required
Strong knowledge of integrated systems and reporting software
Personal integrity and business ethics with the ability to execute decisions in a timely manner are key
Ability to work and interact with all levels of employees within a variety of departments throughout the organization
Proven ability to get into the weeds and do deep analytical dives, plus high level reporting
Detailed and process oriented
Thorough knowledge of GAAP and current accounting pronouncements
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other common office tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
