THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Controller is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Company?s accounts and financial reporting, including timely compliance with SEC deadlines. This role is also responsible for the Company?s Sarbanes Oxley program. There are currently two positions reporting to this role ? Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant.
OVERSIGHT AND EXECUTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Drive the month-end close and financial reporting process.
Lead the Sarbanes Oxley Compliance program.
SEC reporting, including quarterly and annual filings, press releases, annual proxy statement, insider reporting and equity registrations.
Prepare Senior Management for quarterly analyst calls/presentations.
Develop the accounting system, Microsoft Dynamics GP, functionality and capabilities to support the business? activities as we grow.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial results through the implementation of appropriate processes/policies.
Administer the stock compensation program.
Responsible for managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. Ensure deductions from invoices are properly applied and accounted for.
Responsibility for oversight of government pricing computations performed by a third party.
Oversight of income tax accounting and returns prepared by outside accounting firm. Manage sales and use tax.
Maintain integrity of inventory and fixed asset records.
Interact/support sales team, marketing, manufacturing and clinical teams.
Recruit, train and motivate the accounting team as the company grows.
TRAINING AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting
Minimum 15 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership of a successful accounting function in a medium to large global corporate setting
Accounting/finance experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Significant SEC filing experience and deep knowledge of current accounting standards
Extensive experience analyzing complex accounting principles and accruals, application to real-world transactions, review and preparation of financial statements and demonstrated maturity in business judgment
Big 4 audit firm experience and advanced degree is highly desired
Energetic, self-starter with demonstrated leadership in driving results through leadership of individuals & teams in a complex, changing environment

Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to influence personnel across functions and at all levels, including senior executives
Able to articulate complex accounting issues to non-finance business leaders
