Controller / Director - FP&A Coursera
This individual will be responsible for the preparation of all financial and accounting statements, and provide key financial information to our Leadership team to help drive the growth and profitability of the company. In the near term, you will need to work closely with the company's audit partner to prepare for the company's first planned audit at the end of 2013. Today our accounting activity is mostly outsourced, and this person will be responsible for managing this in the short term, and possibly bringing it in house long term. The person will be expected to be hands on, and build a strong team as the company grows. It will be an added benefit if they understand the integration of an ERP accounting system to a web based application.
Manage the entire activity of a financial organization including:
Preparation of journal entries and all financial statements.
Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
Reconcile bank account.
Reconcile and code credit card statement charges.
Responsible for fixed asset transaction recording, reconciliation and audit.
Review and assist with identifying and coding unallowable expenses.
Provide data and serve as a resource for auditors.
Analyze Financial Management System Policies and Procedures and insure compliance.
Assist in the implementation of general accounting process improvement objectives.
Maintain accounting system Chart of Account and Vendor master files
Manage Accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Assist on other accounting projects as required, including documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Manage Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Work with Executive Leadership to Create Key Corporate Metrics to Evaluate Corporate Growth and Profitability
Work with Executive Leadership and key people throughout the company to evaluate and review new business models.
Have the ability to do complex financial analysis for university partner revenue and profit sharing
Experience updating capitalization tables and managing the 409A valuation process.
Experience in managing the employee stock option plan.
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance required, preferred MBA from top university.
Minimum 6-8 years related experience.
Ability to manage and apply a broad range of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Experience working with Fixed Assets transaction accounting.
Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs and advanced Excel skills.
Experience in implementing third party accounting systems for company use.
Experience in building a world class Finance/Accounting team
