Scope
Proactive, hands-on, tech-savvy CPA sought to lead all corporate accounting and tax functions, and oversee a professional team of six. This position is responsible for financial statement preparation, reporting and analysis, tax strategy and filings, managing audits and valuations, and management and development of accounting team. The Controller reports directly to the Senior VP Finance and will work closely with various business leaders across the organization and the management team.
Responsibilities
Oversee General Ledger, A/R, A/P, and Payroll functions, and manage systems supporting Accounting team
Manage cash flow via daily reporting, cash requirements analysis, and cash forecasting
Prepare monthly close schedule in conjunction with internal and external reporting calendars
Liaise with external parties in execution of corporate audits, valuations and tax filings
Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements and analysis for internal and external parties
Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
Develop and implement formal accounting policies in accordance with GAAP, conducting periodic evaluations for compliance and regulatory or environmental changes
Establish and manage-to quarterly and annual goals of Accounting function and direct reports?
Work within team and cross-functionally to identify areas for improvement and implement scalable solutions
Qualifications
We are seeking a highly experienced Controller with a CPA and a strong technology and operations orientation in addition to a solid understanding of GAAP. We require a highly organized, proactive, solutions-driven, person with a proven ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure, lead and truly develop talent. Plus:
Highly analytic with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, verbally and in writing
Superior organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to follow-through
Advanced software skills including Excel, Great Plains, FRx, XL Reporter, PowerPoint, ADP Workforce Now, and Concur Solutions
Minimum 5 years prior Controller experience, preferably in Media & Technology
Publishing experience a plus
