In this pivotal hands-on role, the Financial Controller will manage the overall accounting operations of the Company. This is a great opportunity for someone with 6+ years of progressive professional experience and who possess the ability to operate in a fast paced startup environment. The Controller is responsible for all accounting processes and procedures related to the general ledger, accounts payable and disbursements, accounts receivable, collections, and cash application. The Controller is also responsible for maintaining and ensuring adequate system of internal controls throughout the company. The Controller champions the continual improvement and efficiency of accounting functions. This position will report to the CFO and will have frequent one-on-one interactions with the entire Leadership Team. This role requires an individual with a positive, friendly attitude and a ?can-do? spirit.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the operations of the accounting department, working to improve processes and organizational structure
Prepare US GAAP financial statements and review
Act as a primary interface with the Company?s auditors, and coordinate planning and execution of annual audits
Assist in the creation of the annual budget and updated projections
Provide standard and ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis
Lead the accounting team functions to deliver accurate and timely financial and operational information
Develop, document and maintain accounting and operating procedures, policies and controls, including both revenue and expense recognition
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts including but not limited to deferred revenue
Requirements
Minimum six years of progressive accounting and management experience
BS degree in Accounting or Finance required
CPA certification preferred
Understanding and/or exposure to designing and monitoring internal controls
Proven leadership skills within a technology or service business
Finance systems skills: able to understand and optimize systems architecture of the billing system and interface between operations systems and financial systems
Able to critically evaluate information for accuracy and quality, for purposes of recommendation, and making logical evaluations of proposed initiatives
Solid background in statistics and modeling
Execution focused with the ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal and third parties
Experience managing employees/growing a team in a fast-paced environment
