Controls and Compliance Senior Cornerstone OnDemand
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Controls and Compliance Senior will be responsible for the planning, performing and reporting of internal audit projects. This position will lead the SOX 404 controls testing and design evaluation. Additional special projects, including due diligence, will be assigned on an as needed basis. Leads meetings with management to (a) define scope and timing of audits, and (b) review of audit findings and recommendations. Designs/reviews testing per agreed audit programs and ensures they provide appropriate audit coverage through identified risks. Reviews/edits draft audit reports. Leads audits and special projects along with other personnel. Provides advisory services on audit, accounting and system issues as assigned. This role reports to the Controls and Compliance Manager.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge and a proven record of success in completing aspects of the Internal Audit process, control evaluation and testing methodologies, and other Financial and Operational Internal Control methodologies and terminology( e.g. COSO)
Leading teams, emphasizing the supervising of Controls and Compliance Associate by creating a positive working environment taking into account of team members' capabilities and needs and the providing of candid and meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and the keeping leadership informed on progress and issues.
Using available technical resources and tools to research and expand sphere of knowledge to enhance work product, significantly contribute to business development efforts and to remain up to date on hot topics while sharing the knowledge amongst the team where applicable.
Collaborating with and understanding the business leadership in an organized and knowledgeable manner and actively participating in discussions and meetings.
Managing day-to-day engagement operations, including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing of unanticipated issues; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicating potential conflicts to leadership.
Evaluating internal controls design; identify key risks and controls, develop and or review audit programs, benchmark financial and operational processes and controls as well as perform controls optimization.
Creating high quality deliverables using appropriate business and technical language, especially developing and reviewing audit programs or testing steps, adapting an audit program to suit a client's specific environment, and/or designing controls evaluation and testing work plans
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Business Administration
Minimum 5 years audit experience. Preference to Big 4 or Public company experience.
Executive presence and good communication skills (written and oral). Ability to provide guidance to audit team peers and Management on audit and control issues.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects.
Excellent computer skills and ability to utilize computer assisted auditing techniques and software.
Preference to candidates with or pursuing CIA, CPA certification
Corporate Governance and Sarbanes Oxley Act's regulations and requirements, including compliance readiness programs
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Financial and operational fraud risk management
IT general and process controls, including Data Privacy and IT security
General understanding of financial and information systems (ERP, databases, SQL) and processes and ability to apply that knowledge in conducting audits.
