Controls/Electrical Drafter Turbine Air Systems

The Electrical/Controls Drafter works directly with the controls engineers, with input and feedback from project engineers, and the manufacturing and service departments. The Electrical/ Controls Drafter produces drawings for the purpose of manufacturing and supporting controls systems for all TAS products. Drawings will be suitable for the purpose of manufacturing controls systems, including control panels, either in TAS facilities or outside facilities. The same drawings will be used for repair and diagnosis procedures for the life of the equipment.
Read and understand controls drawings and ?red-lines?
Read and understand controls specifications
Read and understand ladder logic diagrams
Create sets of controls drawings
Check drawings against actual equipment
Have working knowledge of PLC?s, HMI?s, and communication networks
Must understand electrical and controls work. Must understand how the work is accomplished in the factory or the field, and must understand the documents required to perform this work. Must be able to produce drawings that facilitate the work to be done by installers.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Drafting experience is required. Electrical controls drafting or designing is required. Field work in the areas of electrical or controls installation is helpful.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Electrical/Controls Draftsman must be trained in the use of AutoCAD. Must have sufficient training or equivalent experience to understand controls wiring systems. Must be fluent with wiring practices and codes. Must be able to understand and incorporate information from electrical codes not in daily use; i.e. ?International Electrical Code?, or ?IEC? requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most of the work is completed in an office environment. Controls draftsman will be called on to do preparation work in the factory. Such work will include inspection of purchased electrical and controls gear, and inspection of completed factory work, for the purpose of creating accurate drawings.
