Conversion Engineer Vertafore, Inc.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Conversion Engineer will be responsible for performing all required tasks and activities in a data conversion project. This role will be required to:
Assist and guide customers through the conversion process to convert their source data to a Vertafore system
Perform customer welcome calls to review conversion project timeline and expectations
Provide assistance and direction to clients to obtain data extractions
Perform data analysis, data mapping, data requirements, validation of data and corresponding data dependencies
Develop, test, and deploy customized conversion T-SQL scripts
Assist and direct customers in performing data translations and mappings
Perform quality assurance on all converted data for accuracy from application functionality perspective
Check project management timelines daily to keep track of all relevant tasks and deadlines
Research/diagnose problems for prompt resolution to time sensitive issues
Document all discussions, issues and solutions to problems involving the customer in the customer relationship management system
Maintain client satisfaction throughout conversion process
Consistent communication with Implementation team including weekly status reports
Act as data conversion Subject Matter Expert
Establish standards for data mapping and conversion process
Perform project scoping analysis
Ensure work and/or decisions are made in a timely manner according to committed schedules
Aggressively work to meet department goals and objectives
WHO ARE YOU?
You are proficient with T-SQL and are able to implement cursors in a SQL script
You are experienced building and fixing Crystal Reports
You have shown the ability to organize and disseminate information efficiency and have the ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
You have excellent communication skills including delivering complex technical information to non-technical people
You have a demonstrated track record of meeting project deadlines on time
You have proven to be a dedicated contributor that will work tirelessly in delivering outstanding service, support, and assistance to end customers
You enjoy learning and mastering repetitive processes
You have a positive attitude, great sense of humor, are a team player and have a desire to impact change
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Experience in data analysis and ability to reverse engineer database schema highly desirable
Thorough knowledge of database design and associated tools
Expertise in a variety of different file/data formats
Demonstrated knowledge of structured development processes, technical project management, software testing and documentation
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Prior insurance experience desired
Three to five years of experience in MS SQL Server 2005/2008 Management Studio, SSRS, SSIS and ETL
2+years of Crystal Reporting or equivalent reporting development
Experience with VBScript is a plus
Requires weekend and after-hours availability for client support and conversion assistance
Undergraduate degree in engineering, math, computer science or related field
