Corporate Communications Associate

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Help manage local, regional, and trade public relations; support national consumer and business public relations as well as internal communications.
- Help manage multi-tiered media strategy supporting corporate, sales and product initiatives.
- Assist in managing external PR agency activity, as appropriate.
- Draft and review talking points, press releases, media advisories, by-line articles and other external/internal communications to meet communications goals and objectives; ensure high standards consistent with company messaging and editorial guidelines.
- Help develop media pitches and manage in-bound press calls.
- Develop, manage and staff media-related events.
- Help manage speaking opportunities and awards submissions.
- Support product launches, marketing campaigns and partner programs.
- Assist with organization of press briefings, media training, photography, and press attendance.
- Provide counsel to senior executives on messaging and media relations; staff media interviews.
- Work closely with Marketing, Account Management, Revenue, Operations, Product Development and other teams.
- Manage online press assets and media kit (uploading content to the Recyclebank Press Room, YouTube, Flickr, and more).
- Review editorial schedules and manage process.
- Assist in publicizing high-profile media coverage internally and to clients.
- Write and distribute company announcements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Two to four years of corporate communications and/or PR experience.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field.
- Superior written and oral communications skills are essential; including public speaking and business writing experience.
- High level of attention to detail is a must.
- High energy level and a readiness to take on significant change and growth.
- Agency/vendor resource management experience.
- Knowledge of and entrepreneurship in identifying new and emerging public relations/communications tools.
- Demonstrated success in implementing media campaigns (including social media).
- Demonstrated success in securing media coverage in a variety of outlet types.
- Experience working closely with senior level executives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and demands at a time.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management.
- Effective working relationship with team members and manager across geographical locations.
