About the Position:
This key position will establish a solid accounting function that will meet all internal and external standards of excellence. You will have the ability to architect and implement the procedures, processes and systems to enable us to meet the operational, reporting and audit requirements. Provide the foundation to operate as a public company. This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA.
The Controller will report to the Sr. VP and CFO and will be responsible for:
Supervising the Accounting Manager and staff, and managing the worldwide revenue accounting.
Indirect responsibility for Accounting Managers in branches and subsidiaries worldwide and setting the worldwide accounting policies and procedures for US and local GAAP compliance.
Annual Reports and MDAs
Developing the framework for reporting required to go public
Accounting functions (GL, AP, Deferred Revenue Accounting, AR, Payroll, Cash Collections)
Fixed assets, inventory and cost accounting
Close process and underlying procedures
Publications of Financial and Management Reporting
Treasury and Cash flow management
Interpretation and implementation of all current accounting and regulatory pronouncements/rulings from SEC/FASB/PCAOB as applicable
Income, Property, and Sales Tax Compliance, and VAT compliance in Europe
Interfacing with the Audit Committee and external auditors to ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance in all accounting transactions
Managing the annual audit process and follow up on findings
Supporting the quarterly reviews and executive meetings
M&A activities including valuations and accounting treatments
Auditing and reviewing of Revenue recognition, policy and procedures
Consolidation of foreign entities and divisions
Maintenance of options ledgers, options accounting
Financial and reporting systems
Requirements:
B.S. in Accounting Required
CPA Required
Experience:
10 plus years of progressive career including public accounting experience
Demonstrates competencies to meet and manage the responsibilities outlined above in a high tech rapidly growing organization.
Solid understanding and application of US GAAP revenue recognition rules ( Software Revenue Recognition, Multiple Deliverable Revenue Arrangements, Revenue Arrangements that include Software as a deliverable and allocation based on Estimated Selling Prices).
Experience in mid-tier to large ERP systems and in selection and implementation of accounting and financial systems with global platforms.
Leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills to navigate and organize a growing company, mentor and grow the finance function.
Salary: Depending on qualifications and experience.
