Corporate Controller
Job Summary
Help lead nLIGHT from a rapidly growing successful private company to one that is also public. Build a strong accounting team. Ensure accurate and timely accounting of business results. Establish highly effective financial processes.
- Manage company-wide accounting processes, financial closes, corporate consolidation, compliance with GAAP, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, management reporting, tax reporting, and the annual audit.
- Scale financial function to meet the requirements of a publicly traded company. Draft forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings releases and other SEC communications (post IPO). Establish compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Establish and maintain controls, policies, and procedures that enhance company integrity and improve shareholder value. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all reporting.
- Manage cash flow, disbursements/collections, and regular cash flow forecasts.
- Provide business metrics, financial guidance, and insightful analysis to management team and Board of Directors; track progress against initiatives; perform post implementation analyses; and ensure employees have financial insight necessary to achieve goals.
- Manage, develop, and help position staff to succeed. Build an effective organization that can accurately execute all transactions and timely close each period in accordance with GAAP.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a top-tier school. CPA certification. Master's degree in Accounting or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on financial managerial experience preparing, analyzing, and reporting consolidated financials, in a combination of public and corporate accounting. Ideally, experience in a fast-paced, public manufacturing company with exposure to multiple worldwide divisions and sites.
- Experience drafting an S-1 and participating in an IPO.
- Experience designing and maintaining internal control systems.
- Experience utilizing various ERP systems (MS Axapta / Dynamics AX particularly helpful).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships; ability to organize and manage to completion multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and on time.
