Corporate Development Manager
About the role:
WhaleShark Media is looking to expand its Corporate Development team by hiring a Corporate Development Manager. The Corporate Development team at WhaleShark is responsible for all mergers and acquisitions activities. We are a very active team, executing on a substantial number of deals that are both domestic and international. The team works in a highly integrated fashion and with cross-functional leadership to source and identify potential acquisitions, present proposals to the executive team, build valuation models, post-acquisition operating plans and negotiate/close transactions. The Corporate Development Manager will work actively on all aspects of the deal process as well as analyze new markets for growth/expansion.
Responsibilities & Project Work:
-Continuously monitor and track market trends and the competitive landscape to help identify new business or acquisition opportunities in specific industries and /or geographies
-Identify key issues for all potential targets and perform a broad range of qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess each opportunity
-Work with cross-functional leadership to build financial and valuation models for acquisition opportunities and prepare what-if analyses and scenario modeling
-Manage due diligence examinations of acquisition targets and support the process of acquiring and integrating acquisitions
-Coordinate with all relevant groups at WhaleShark (Corporate Development, Operations, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Marketing, Product, etc.)
-Develop presentation materials to provide recommendations to the executive team, Board of Directors, etc.
-We are looking for ambitious, self-starters who have strong analytic and communication skills
-A proven track record in executing deals
-Ability to multi-task and deal with time pressure in an unstructured environment
-Effective communication skills in presenting recommendations to senior management
-A minimum of 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, venture capital / private equity or corporate development
-Experience in the Internet space
