The Corporate Director of Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for all aspects of risk management; health, safety, environmental performance; provides support, oversight, planning and safety management services to all company sites and customers worldwide.
?Present a well-organized and comprehensive EH&S company-wide strategy.
?Work with management team to set and achieve annual EH&S goals and objectives.
?Develop and implement effective safety communication plans.
?Ensure EH&S activities are current, and all health and safety hazards and issues that may affect the public, personnel and/or customers are identified and addressed.
?Ensure representation of the company with EPA, OSHA and the local community.
?Represent the EH&S function, demonstrating strategic directions with senior management and the investor community.
?Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local government laws within the United States as well as internationally.
?Manage EH&S budgets and personnel.
Qualifications:Experience and Educational Requirements:
?Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and foster a compliant safety-first culture
?Experience leading change in a fast paced environment with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
?Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment
?Demonstrated experience representing Company to Customers.
?Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focused skills
?Ability to create cross-functional team approaches to improve incident rates and overall EH&S performance. .
?Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing, working in the chemical industry strongly preferred.
?At least 10 years in experience in EH&S roles
?In-plant experience preferable
?Experience in obtaining EPA and construction permits for new facilities
?Experience with monitoring, reporting and regulations surrounding Industrial Hygiene
?Familiar with Process Safety guidelines associated with the chemical industry
?Experience working within a Research and Development environment.
?Prior experience in Safety within a manufacturing environment with 150 or more employees.
?Possess a strong network to ensure leveraging of best practices and resources.
?Background in developing Product Stewardship guidelines a plus.
?Experience managing multiple direct reports in matrix organization. Bachelor Degree in EHS discipline or related science/engineering area.
