The Sales Engineer will be responsible for supporting sales with both pre and post sales activities as well as other related Sales and Marketing functions as needed.
The Sales Engineer will serve as an expert on customers? technical and operational needs for internal discussions with Product Management and other departments. They will also serve as a technical expert on Glimmerglass products and applications for external discussions with customers and partners.
The Sales Engineer will answer technical questions, make recommendations and provide product training to our European and Asian customers as well as other worldwide customers as needed. In addition to working at Glimmerglass headquarters in Hayward, the Sales Engineer will be expected to travel abroad for approximately 30% of the year.
Working with a close-knit, cross-functional team, the Sales Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to the company by identifying short-term and long-term customer issues; acquiring a knowledge base for contribution to strategic decisions; recommending and implementing best practices.
Skills/Qualifications: Five to 10 years experience at an equipment vendor in the Cyber Security or Telecom industry is required. International experience working with diverse cultures is also required. A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field is highly desirable. Applicant should be able to demonstrate technical understanding relevant to our business as well as skills for presentation, trouble-shooting, and requirements analysis.
