You are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Zuora?s platform. You will deliver tailored and engaging product demos based on customer input. You must be able to identify all technical requirements in assigned accounts and articulate technology, product positioning and competitive differentiation to both business and technical stakeholders.
Responsible for development and delivery of prospect-tailored product demonstrations
Responsible for training the sales force (internal) and prospects (external) on the Zuora platform as well as new features as they are released
Prioritize opportunities in a fast-paced sales environment and apply resources accordingly
Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
Design and articulate API-based solutions to enable client requirements
Responsible for representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders during the sales cycle
Comfortable working collaboratively with product, engineering, professional services and customer service teams to ensure overall customer success
Able to travel throughout sales territory
Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in a Sales Engineering or Pre-sales role. Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base. Must possess strong technical background, presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports. Confidently leverage technical and presentation skills to eliminate all obstacles during the sales process.
Minimum 3-5+ years relevant experience in technical sales / pre-sales
A B.S. in Computer Science / Engineering or a related technology field is required; M.S. is preferred
Outstanding presentation, written and oral communication skills
Ability to article the benefits of Cloud Computing in the context of solving all aspects of a prospect?s subscription commerce requirements
Experience with SaaS, CRM, ERP, and quote to cash processes a plus
Must have a working knowledge of SOAP and REST-based APIs
In-depth understanding of web technologies and scripting languages (HTTP, XHTML/HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX, PHP, Python, Ruby / RoR, etc); hands on experience in any of the above is preferred
Previous development or pre-sales experience at an early stage company is also a plus
