Cost Analyst MegaPath
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing key analysis of roughly $200m of recurring and non-recurring cost of sales, primarily focused on telecommunications suppliers. The person will be a member of the team that drives substantial cost-savings initiatives that are critical to achievement of the company?s bottom-line performance.
Monthly compilation of detailed trend analysis of key cost components: access, network transport, collocation, VoIP components and disputes & recoveries.
Reconciliation of unbilled costs, researching variances and explaining trends.
Reconcile carrier-billed circuits with internal circuit inventory system, trouble-shooting as required to explain monthly changes. Apply the accurate standard cost rates for expense and accrual analysis.
Work closely with regulatory team to maintain accurate standard costs in Bill Verification rate structure system and relevant reference documents for cost analysis.
Identify costs to accrue to general ledger to support proper service period cut-offs and prepare journal entries required to reclassify costs to drive accurate financial reporting.
Analysis of non-recurring costs to audit against customer billings.
Detail data analysis to support carrier dispute claims and resolution.
Maintain GL allocation rules for Razorsight carrier bill processing system.
Timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close activities to support streamlined 3-days close.
Implement and maintain effective policies, procedures and controls for assigned areas.
Skills and experience required:
BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent work experience plus 4 + years of relevant and progressive experience in technology companies
Telecommunications industry experience a plus
Ability to mine, manipulate, and analyze large quantities of data (Excel, Access)
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to effectively interact with multiple functional departmentsCompany Description
