2U, Inc.?s Content group is seeking smart, creative and highly organized individuals to act as Course Producers for Semester Online, a first-of-its-kind program offering rigorous, online undergraduate courses for credit from a consortium of top-tier American colleges and universities.
The Course Producer will work closely with university faculty and with colleagues in 2U?s broader Content team to plan, build, deploy and maintain a series of content-rich online courses to be offered within 2U?s Learning Management System (LMS). The challenges of the position are both creative and logistical, requiring on-your-feet thinking, a keen eye and ear for detail and the ability to oversee a system of many moving parts with grace and confidence. Candidates should have a track record that clearly demonstrates these capabilities. All those applying should have the following qualifications:
5+ years professional production/project-management experience
Professional experience in both video production and digital content-development;
Excellent interpersonal, client-management and time-management skills;
Experience handling and tracking digital assets in a collaborative work environment;
Comfort with and interest in academic subject matter;
Proven ability to deliver high-quality content, on-time and on-budget;
Ability to learn the basics of unfamiliar technologies quickly;
Extreme attention to detail.
Reporting to the head of 2U?s New York-based Content team, the Course Producer will assist in all aspects of this effort, including:
partnering with faculty and with internal colleagues to develop and execute course-content plans;
documenting and maintaining course-production schedules;
assisting in field production;
organizing and managing digital assets;
tracking development of course materials through production and deployment;
reviewing course materials for quality and consistency;
troubleshooting time-sensitive issues as they arise;
delivering video, rich-media and text assets that meet and surpass client expectations on quality.
