Position Responsibilities:
Build and lead an extended team encompassing all creative aspects of game development and delivery, including: concept development, design, evaluation, art direction, story-telling, and sound. He/She will also lead the recruitment effort for the best talent in each area.
Design and articulate an overarching vision for the team that aligns with GSN?s gaming strategy and business goals.
Collaborate with Game Producers to ensure the design meets all product goals.
Manage rapid prototyping and proof of concept development for game projects.
Remain current on industry knowledge of competitive games, successful genres, and popular ?fun? mechanics; maintain knowledge of consumer demographics and psychographics within the casual game market.
Continually offer feedback on the quality of games at various points in the development cycle and serve as change agent when necessary.
Cultivate and nurture the spirit of creativity and innovation across the organization.
Lead and inspire a diverse team of creatives; foster a vibrant creative culture.
Develop and maintain an effective partnership with GSN?s marketing organization to ensure that the voice of the consumer is reflected in all creative solutions.
Be a GSN ?evangelist?. Attend and speak at industry conferences and events.
Professional Qualifications:
The Creative Director will be a strategic, creative executive with proven experience driving innovative social game design. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to build, mentor, manage and inspire a world-class creative department to truly develop the ?Best in Class? social games. In addition, the Creative Director should have:
A minimum of 8+ years of product development experience that encompasses game design, creative direction and creative development in social and/or casual online games.
3+ experience as a creative or design director for a social and/or casual game studio overseeing and directing game design resources
Hands-on experience creating game concepts, documentation, systems & mechanics, narrative, etc.
Demonstrated ability to lead the design of multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with internal/external teams of programmers, artists and producers.
Experience leading the design and implementation process, working with both internal and external development teams.
In-depth experience in the planning, production and development of social games; must be able to prioritize tasks and assign resources effectively.
Ability to provide samples of design work at multiple phases of development-concept presentations, PRD?s/GDD?s prototypes-as well as samples of live or shipped titles.
Advanced people/team management and leadership skills.
Strong sense of professional integrity.
Ability to provide constructive criticism to designers/artists and guide the design process.
Well-developed written and verbal communications skills, including presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams through organizational change.
Ability to decipher data and use the information for the success of the company.
