Revision3, a Discovery Communications Company, seeks a Creative Director to focus on leading the UIX strategy for website development, internal tools relating to the core product, and partner application development, such as Xbox, GoogleTV, mobile, tablet, desktop applications, and beyond.
The Creative Director will be a leader in workshops for conceptualizing and strategizing brand definition, developing guidelines for visual identity usage, and creative reproducible workflows in graphic packages for implementation across a variety of video platforms, web applications, distribution partners, and marketing efforts.
At a high level, the ideal candidate should have demonstrated skill in designing and maintaining strong consumer-centric brands from conception to completion across a variety of platforms, with a portfolio of work in branding and UIX across mobile, tablet, desktop and OTT devices. This person will also have an excellent ability to manage staff, project timelines and projections, and inter-department deliverables.
Candidates must have a strong technical background and understand development cycles, being able to work closely with both in-house and 3rd party platform and client application developers to create an intuitive, user-friendly, and video centric UIX.
This candidate should also be familiar with the business of television and video distribution, being willing to become an expert in how Revision3 produces and capitalizes on content and talent.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
UIX design for web applications, mobile/tablet/desktop applications, and any 3rd party video distribution source.
Lead creative sessions for visual branding kick-offs with both internal departments at all levels, contractors and with show teams /talent
Work with internal teams to generate visual identities for marketable new show/network brands
Provide creative art direction and storyboarding for motion & sound design editors
Manage multiple projects from concept through completion
Strategize and practice long-term archival of assets and documented workflows
Supervise, inspire, and manage a team of designers to create and follow branding guidelines across distribution properties
Oversee the team's maintenance and integrity of daily episodic content thumbnails and marketing materials to optimize views
5-10 years demonstrated experience designing and developing brands (both business centric and consumer centric preferred)
5+ years demonstrated experience in desktop, mobile, tablet, and OTT device UI/UX design
Ability to train and provide knowledge transfer of best practices in digital, print and motion design
Extensive knowledge of the business of video distribution and online media (i.e. RSS feeds, partners such as YouTube)
Strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work calmly under pressure, manage several projects at the same time, and meet hard deadlines
Ability to work in a development cycle environment and provide requirements and estimates of work
Passion for excellent design in technology, digital media and gadgets, and Internet video
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Graphic Communication, Interactive Design, or similar
