Busy in-house creative team is looking for a highly organized, savvy, energetic Creative Project Manager (CPM) to work on POP, marketing and advertising print projects. The ideal candidate is proactive and fast learning, with a lot of proven experience managing the creative development project flow. We?re looking for someone with proven ability to think strategically about the requirements for each project, and when up to speed will be able to independently research and acquire various elements or missing details.
Experience managing corporate-level print design projects is important. The successful candidate has a passion for finding the optimal way to manage each job. While working within our established process, the CPM will know when to tailor it based on a project?s unique set of circumstances.
Exceptional multi-tasking skills and a pleasant, team-oriented personality are key. Must be able to follow instructions well, have a strong eye for detail, and excellent proofing skills. Ability to do quality work independently, manage your own priorities, handle multiple projects and take feedback effectively.
While we have a Traffic Coordinator to manage the majority of our projects, the CPM will be responsible for the success of some of our more complex projects, fulfilling tasks such as:
Attending kickoff meetings and asking the right questions to ascertain the target audience, goals for the piece, relevant branding to include, and approvers who will be involved in reviews.
Get people from other internal teams involved as needed to help get content decisions made, before the design team begins their work
Track the flow of tasks between the creative team and our internal clients; always be aware of status at each stage
Research any outstanding questions or missing information
Monitor intermediate and long-term deadlines to ensure timely execution
Interface frequently with the Creative Director to ensure design drafts are meeting our quality and brand standards
Ensure that internal teams have acquired all official approvals needed, such as with financial institutions
The CPM will back up the Traffic Coordinator during times when they are away. That involves utilizing our traffic management software application to track new design requests and ensure that all projects are progressing through the design development stages.
The successful candidate will have the ability to help the department manager make process improvements by proactively suggesting alternate methods.
Retail industry experience preferred.
Degree in Design Management, Communications, Marketing or Business
PMP certification would be desired, but is not mandatory
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience managing design projects, either agency or in-house
High level of proficiency in MS Office 2011 and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Speed and accuracy, attention to detail and ability to proof your work
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with various employee levels
Mac OSX environment

Samples of completed projects: print jobs such as POP/retail display, brochures, long-form booklets, advertising, trade show graphics, product packaging, etc.
