Creative - Senior Graphic Designer SmartPak
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Work with the Creative Director to design, develop and maintain the overall creative process. Help oversee processes and mentor other Graphic Designers. Additionally, partner with other departments and entities within the company to achieve project objectives.
The Nitty Gritty:
Design print marketing pieces, including catalogs, direct mail pieces, signage, advertising and other print marketing collateral, that excite our customers about SmartPak products
Develop/vet ideas generated in brainstorm sessions
Transform abstract concepts into visually compelling designs
Design collateral that excites our customers about SmartPak products, leading to the ability to work on higher visibility projects.
Serve as Creative Lead on designated product specialties; serving as creative liaison to associated departments in idea generation and project management
Manage and execute day-to-day processes and responsibilities assigned to the Creative team
Manage graphic design team to accomplish project goals; build creative bench-strength by working with Creative Director to reinforce the goals, principles, and SmartPak style to the rest of the design team
Manage timelines and processes to meet deadlines
Develop innovative designs and layouts
Participate in creative strategy meetings to determine project specifications; develop and present concepts.
Work with Project Manager to create production and execution timelines
Provide senior-level design insights on highly-visible projects, and design best practices and creative inspiration for the Creative team
Manage assigned projects and adhere to project timelines, effectively communicating project status to internal partners
Provide quality control on all completed projects to ensure design quality and production accuracy
Actively participate in Creative Department meetings and support the department in the development and implementation of new tools, systems and procedures
Stay up to date on design trends, production technology and brand marketing
Provide assistance with the general design/production needs of the department as directed
Participate in educational opportunities to increase design capabilities and maintain up-to-date design technology

Bachelor?s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
5+ years working as a print designer in an agency or corporate environment; catalog and photo shoot experience are preferred
Critical, conceptual thinker with excellent attention to detail
Advanced experience in layout, color theory, and design principles. Strong typography skills.
Good time- and project-management skills with the ability to self-manage and work as part of a team within a dynamic environment
Able to manage several projects both small and large in scope
Strong skills in InDesign and Photoshop on a Mac platform, plus working knowledge of Illustrator and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Leadership qualities and ability to work well with others.
Receptive and open to feedback and input on all design work
Strong understanding of business
Knowledge of emerging design trends
Horse experience preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
