The Collections Analyst is an entry level position and plays an important role in the daily and monthly functions of the Accounts Receivable team. This individual will possess the abilities required to build strong relationships with clients, the company?s sales team and participate in all aspects of the collections? cycle. Assistance with month end billing, close processes and reporting may be needed.
This position may include some or all of the following:
Read, interpret and apply company?s collection policies and procedures
Establish relationships and interact directly with external clients and internal sales personnel
Receive research requests and respond to clients? incoming questions; provide information, explain and resolve discrepancies, and/or facilitate a resolution
Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; and accurately document all information pertaining to accounts
Maintain and report to management on aged accounts receivable and provide resolution for uncollectible accounts
Send out monthly account statements to clients
Run clients? Dunn & Bradstreet credit reports and assist analyzing for credit issuance. Open new client accounts in Great Plains
Assist with the estimation of quarterly Allowance for Doubtful Accounts
Propose and implement improvements in processes to increase effectiveness of the unit
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
2-3 years of relevant work experience required
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Great Plains experience a plus
Possess investigative techniques to identify true delinquency reasons to aid in process resolution
Strong problem solving, planning and people?s skills in order to establish strong relationships with clients and personnel
Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
