The Customer Business Specialist will work closely with the respective Sales Director to grow existing accounts, build collaborative relationships across all levels of the accounts, and to improve sales execution. The CBS develops persuasive data driven selling stories that drive customer decisions. He/ she is responsible for item set up, account promotional evaluations, new item analysis, order management, and maintaining in stocks. This position is also on point for account forecast accuracy. In some cases, this position may ?carry the bag? for .com customers or other small retailers. This position is a feeder role for future sales talent.
Examples of Typical Activities:
Developing strong working relationship/knowledge with account buyers, planners and replenishment personnel.
Collaborating with replenishment managers and buyers and communicate inventory and/or order status issues. Suggesting orders when appropriate
Product Item set up and item maintenance for .com & bricks
Participate in forecast/demand and S&OP reviews
Manage account forecast development and entry
Communicate unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products with Supply Chain. Consumption vs order tracking.
Monitor .com ?store? (content, reviews, pricing, availability). Address issues with account and resolve
Perform visual management setup ? endcap signage and VITS execution/forms
Working cross functionally with customer service on Order management ? Store issue resolution, price deviations, allocations, and item availability dates and communication with account.
Participate in internal monthly forecasts calls to ensure forecasts are accurate and identify any potential disruptions in product flow. Review future month forecast to ensure rate of sale, promotional activity, and seasonal profiles are applied appropriately
Evaluate account level analysis ? Retail Trends, POS, Store Checks and competitive landscapes
Review score card and metrics. In customer line reviews cover scorecard analysis and address any specific issues.
Account management for .com and small accounts (In some cases)
Travel as required to meet with account planners/business analysts
BS Degree preferred and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or analytical sales support positions
Consumer Products Goods category experience preferred but not required
Required Technical Competencies
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Strong Microsoft Excel ? spread sheet and data base applications
Knowledge of customer POS Software systems
Demonstrated ability to manage data flow and monitor information
Excellent verbal, writing and presentation communication skills
