THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Blu Homes is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Customer Finance Consultant, based in Blu?s Waltham, MA, headquarters. The Customer Finance Consultant will work with the Sales team to strategically build regional lending partners across North America, assist individual clients in navigating the construction loan process, and provide knowledge area expertise to the rest of the Blu team. Sales at Blu have been growing rapidly and as the company looks to further expand its market and reach, improving customers? access to financing is an especially exciting and important initiative.
Blu Homes is a fast growing innovative technology startup aiming to change landscape of the housing market with best-in-class precision built green houses. Using a uniquely integrated business model, and deeply proprietary information and building science technology, Blu empowers homeowners to design their homes with a free online 3-D configurator. The houses then are built in a Blu factory using a proprietary steel framing system that offers unique beauty, environmental performance and strength, delivered to sites nationwide, and finished by Blu teams. Ultimately, Blu?s mission is to provide home buyers and institutions worldwide with green buildings that are high quality, healthy, beautiful, and economical.
Candidates should embrace technology and be sharp, mature, down to earth, fun, good communicators, high energy, have a ?sense of urgency?, and excitement and understanding of startup culture. Applicants with an interest or understanding of growing a technology startup company are preferred.
Lead Blu?s Customer Finance program, including forming strategic partnerships with lenders in all of Blu?s key markets and lining up executive-level meetings;
Collaborate with Blu?s Marketing team to developer better content and collateral for Customer Finance education;
Consult directly with Blu Sales Representatives and customers to assess and guide individual project financing needs and resourcing;
Manage financing relationships and processes for existing projects through completion, including disbursement schedules;
Educate and train the Blu Sales team on financing topics and serve as a knowledge area expert;
Provide analytics and sample cash flow/ interest expense reports for customers as needed;
Strategize on business model to potentially bring construction loans in-house in the future;
Develop specific lending programs for B2B clients, or spec builders;
Create appraisal packages and recommendations for optimizing appraisal results;
Contribute to Blu?s goal of providing a world-class customer experience by recommending and managing best practices for the Blu project process as it relates to customer finance.
Strong background in finance, experience with mortgage lending or real estate investment preferred;
Analytical, organized, and pragmatic approach with focus on attention to detail;
Solid work ethic and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities in a quickly evolving environment;
Proficiency with financial modeling and analytics, advanced use of MS Excel;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Experience in client management and/or customer service, strong ?soft skills?;
Ability to occasionally travel to Blu sales regions across the U.S. and Canada;
Sense of urgency and ownership; self-motivated to take on new challenges;
Enthusiastic about collaborating to grow sales at a high tech green home startup;
Ability to ?scale? with company and an interest in long-term career opportunities at Blu.
3-5 years working experience; background in real estate investment or mortgage lending preferred; start-up experience a plus;
Minimum bachelor?s degree.
