Avalara is seeking a Customer Loyalty Events Manager. This is a new role, and this person will own the job of engendering loyalty amongst our customers ? if customers continue to love us, they are much more likely to remain with us and continue to purchase. To that end, the Customer Loyalty Events Manager will manage national events, coordinate webinars, contribute material to Avalaras newsletters and online customer community, and manage customer loyalty mailings. The person filling this position will report to the Director of Customer Loyalty Marketing and will work closely with the Customer Loyalty team; together they will inform and retain customers through regular communications, and devise, test and systematize ways to cross-sell and engage customers.
Coordinate all aspects of 10-12 national Avalara customer events, including a-List events and executive dinners, growing attendance and diversifying the audience to include customers of Avalaras several product families. Events are typically half-day or less, and involve securing a venue and catering, coordinating presenters and PowerPoint materials, managing invitations/advertising for the events, coordinating travel arrangements for presenters and employees, managing the event as it happens, and coordinating feedback and reporting post-event.
Facilitate quarterly webinar series in coordination with the Customer Loyalty Marketing Managers quarterly promotion plan.
Express appreciation with customer loyalty mailings and coordinate customer loyalty projects with the Customer Support Reps.
Coordinate and host bi-annual customer advisory board events.
Travel up to 3 days approximately 6 times/year.
Experience and Skills:
BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
2+ years relevant marketing experience.
2+ years event management experience.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word and Excel; experience with Salesforce.com a plus.
Understanding of sales and use tax a plus.
Exceptional project management skills, with an emphasis on clear communication, managing expectations, teamwork and managing complex projects within timelines and on budget.
Strong written and verbal skills; comfortable with public speaking.
Solid reporting/analytical skills.
Ability to effectively manage external vendors.
Adaptive, smart and self-reliant; able to thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment.
