Summary:
Stemgent, a leading start-up stem cell biotechnology company, is looking for a strong candidate with entry level customer service experience who is eager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong phone presence and be motivated in following up on customer inquiries, negotiating with vendors, and have a strong ability to multitask. This dual position requires great poise and professionalism and the ability to meet deadlines and respond to customer inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manor. This position will have the opportunity to work closely with Sales, Operations, and other functions within the company. We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is energetic and works hard, and likes to work with people in a team environment. This position is located in Cambridge, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering incoming calls and assisting customers with questions, orders, and general help; input orders into the database that are received through fax, phone and email.
Review orders received for accuracy and completeness, confirm and/or correct customer orders prior to entering into system.
Create requests in appropriate databases to support customer orders such as new customer account set up, customer pricing, required quality or export documentation.
Identify and coordinate resolution of any issues that may negatively affect customer satisfaction.
Work with Operations/Shipping to support on-time delivery.
Meet or exceed established order accuracy and turnaround time standards.
Comply with all Company and departmental work instructions, procedures, and policies.
Manage short supply situations, backorders, and manual allocations as required.
Input and manage orders for exception products requiring special handling.
Compose accurate, prompt and appropriate replies to all customer contacts.
Enter all contact information into appropriate database(s) in compliance with Company policies.
Ensure that all potentially serious incidents are raised to the appropriate levels of Management.
Support promotional sales campaigns, lead follow up and product launches.
Resolve product and service complaints to the satisfaction of the customer within established company guidelines.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and provide feedback for process improvement and knowledge database updates.
Additional Responsibilities:
As Event Coordinator, this position will coordinate tradeshow and event programs.
Negotiate vendor packages.
Establish customer loyalty and incentive programs.
Participate in other projects as required and contribute to team meetings.
Provide support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
BA degree with experience in the life science or related field preferred but not required.
1-2 years Customer Service experience.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office apps
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Effective project and time management skills
Previous experience with CRM software a plus
