Customer Service Representative/Billing Specialist AssureRx

helping physicians determine the right drug for individual patients suffering from neuropsychiatric and other
disorders. The company was founded to commercialize industry-leading personalized medicine technology

Job Overview: The Billing Specialist will coordinate all aspects of customer service/billing service on a daily
basis for AssureRx Health accounts according to the Standard Operating Procedures. The Billing Specialist
works in a high performance, customer-focused team environment and is responsible for a number of
customer-oriented tasks in a call center environment.
? Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies
? Answers questions from patients, staff and insurance companies
? Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints
? Prepares, reviews and sends patient statements
? Evaluates patient?s financial status and establishes budget payment plans.
? Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts.
? Reviews accounts for possible assignment and makes recommendations to the Customer Service Manager
? Prepares information for the collection agency
? Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone, correcting and resubmitting
claims to third party payers
? Processes payments from insurance companies and prepares a daily deposit
? Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings
? Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
? Resolve customer concerns utilizing in-house billing resources
? Resolve order exceptions within the specified time frame outlined in the Order Exception Process.
? Provide the customer with written information as needed.
? Refer technical inquiries to appropriate staff and ensure that proper follow up occurs.
? Interact with Sales, Laboratory and Billing staff
? Ability to solve problems and deal with variables
? Maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
? Contribute to and participate in the implementation and continuous improvement process of the
? Provide adequate reimbursement consultation pre and post sales to our customers
? Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed
? Reviews and verifies whether patients qualify for AssureRx Health Inc. Patient Assistance Programs.
? Generates revenue by making payment arrangements; monitoring payments, following up with patients
when payment lapses occur.
? Verifying patients? insurance coverage and provides information on PAP programs when applicable.
? Interact with Billing/Finance and Payers Market & Reimbursement Departments.
? Assist other departments as necessaryREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
? High School Diploma required
? Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices
? Proficient in all Microsoft software applications
? Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices
? Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system
? Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
? Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions
? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
? Must be well organized and detail-oriented
