Customer Support Engineer Arxan Technologies
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Join our Customer Support department and help Arxan?s growing customer base up and down the West Coast and around the world apply our powerful software-protection technologies. We need a technical customer-support engineer in our San Francisco product-engineering office, to complement our highly successful staff in the eastern US, the UK, and Japan. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a technically minded software engineer who likes to understand the bits and bytes and work closely with both engineering and customers to help solve problems and get things working.
Work with our proven anti-hacking products on both mobile devices and workstations?iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Become adept in a wide range of architectures, compiler and linker technologies, cryptography methods, and cutting-edge application architectures. Use essential security concepts as you advise users and develop technical relationships with customers and team mates across North America, Asia, and Europe.
Provide direct technical support to customers of Arxan products, answering their questions and advising them on the most effective use of our proven security products.
Advise customers on effective protection techniques and tradeoffs of protection strength vs application performance.
Help customers analyze binaries and debug failures, pinpointing problems and suggesting workarounds.
Characterize customer-found defects to our development engineers and advise on a fix that meets the customer?s need.
Conduct new-customer training, and coordinate delivery of updated product versions to customers.
Advise engineering staff on design questions with respect to customer usage and preferences, as well as product features that would aid resolution of customer issues.
Occasional travel required.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven ability to work with customers to characterize and resolve technical problems at the OS, compiler, linker, and library level.
Ability to build team cooperative relationships with customers and with field and headquarters engineering staff. Ability to understand both product-engineering and customer-use perspectives, and bring both together.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and interactive presentation skills.
A history of building strong working relationships with customers, sales staff, and internal engineering staff, across organizations and across geographies.
Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with standard customer-support tools and methods, including Salesforce.com or similar.
Ability to install software on, and build, link, and debug programs on Windows, Linux, and/or Macintosh.
Ability to program in C/C++ for demonstration purposes, and ability to understand and work with product-application C/C++ code. Ability to learn new programming and operating environments as needed.
Ability to work with Assembly, hex addresses, etc.
Familiarity with Visual Studio, Xcode, and/or Eclipse IDE. Basic ability with XML.
Ability to manage multiple issues and projects at once.
Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent. Masters preferred. At least 5 years experience in a technical Customer Support position.
Must be eligible for long-term US employment.
Programming ability in Objective C on Mac/iOS, Android both native and managed, Java, and/or Windows .NET environment.
Experience in software piracy and anti-piracy very helpful, including licensing, encryption, obfuscation, common cracking techniques and methods of preventing them.
Knowledge of and experience with cryptography.
Familiarity with project-management concepts and how to participate in ongoing multi-party projects.
Experience with building applications for mobile devices, and debugging on mobile devices.
Working knowledge of Salesforce.com.
Experience configuring or adapting support tools and working with support processes.
Preferred ? our San Francisco, California, engineering office (downtown San Francisco office, right at Montgomery Bart and a short distance from the Transbay bus terminal and from the Caltrain depot).
Possible ? our West Lafayette, Indiana, engineering office, near Purdue University.
