Also we welcome all qualified candidates to apply, who are already planning a move to Portland and would like to secure a "job first"; However, there is no planned relo for this position-------Candidate will be responsible for network design and continuous improvement of the Integra data network by creating and documenting product solutions. Must have the strong ability to work with team members with clear verbal and documentation delivery skills. Will work with other departments to improve overall network reliability, guidelines for customer provisioning, and documentation for effective troubleshooting. Willing to work in a team oriented environment and collaboratively provide technical and procedural input to all team members.
Requirements?A minimum of five years, ?hands on?, WAN/LAN, multi-protocol network engineering and implementation experience in an ISP environment with strong emphasis on Cisco routers and switches.
?Strong Layer 2 knowledge including COS, MEF 1.0 and 2.0 standards, 802.1q tagging including push/pop and translations, ring topologies (REP, G.8032).
?Strong overall IP knowledge as well as routing protocols (BGP4, OSPF), MPLS, IPV6. Solid understanding of WAN/LAN transport services (OC12/3, DS3/1, xDSL, SONET, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet).
?Must be able to articulate a good understanding of operational and maintenance issues in service provider network as they relate to network equipment selection and network topology design.
?Must have solid experience with network diagnosis and troubleshooting; utilizing a suite of network analysis tools (i.e. Cisco debug, ?Snoop?, etc.) and Internet applications.
?Questions will be asked about your organization and analytical skills, project and vendor management skills, and you will need a strong command of the English language (written and verbal).
