Job Description - Senior Data Specialist

We are hiring for our Data management team. We're looking for someone who can work fast and furiously while also maintaining high standards of performance and excellence. This position will be responsible for a wide range of data entry and quality assurance tasks necessary to building the most comprehensive and credible source of information on consumer products and companies in the world. If you consider yourself an Excel or MySQL Wiz then we want to talk to you. With those skills you can help us curate, structure, manage and analyze our large unstructured datasets. Passionate candidates are not enough. We're looking for someone that has “fire in the bellyâ€, is super smart, REALLY hard-working, and self-starting.

Duties

• Enter and manage data in our database
• Clean, curate and process large unstructured datasets
• Perform data quality control and assurance and handle quality issues with data vendors
• Conduct research to determine appropriate relationships between categories, companies, brands, traits, products and ingredients
• Conduct research on brands and gather data on its products
• Export data from our platform, and produce high quality MS Excel-based deliverables
• Assist with the development and evaluation of GoodGuide ratings
• Perform statistical analysis on our datasets and ratings

Requirements

• Background in data entry, processing and analysis
• Strong Excel skills preferably with knowledge of VB MySQL skills are a BIG plus
• Experience with health, environmental or social data is a plus
• Capacity to work in a VERY fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple work tasks
• Alignment with company mission
• Good sense of humor
