JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
Maximize the use and value of the necessary reporting and management tools for proactively monitoring operational performance, projecting trends, and guiding requirements, establishing corrective action plans, monitoring improvements, or escalating issues for the purpose of maintaining the most effective and efficient operational execution within the required service levels; focus primarily on production capacity, schedules, volumes, staffing, testing, repairing, yield, quality, efficiency, priorities, inventory control (including parts, collateral materials, etc.), shipments, and all associated procedures and work instructions.
Essential Functions:
Formulate and present data to facilitate business / operational performance level improvements, conduct analysis, make recommendations, establish and / or manage within stated service levels, and publish quantitative performance level attainment
Provide administrative support for projects under the direction of the appropriate Process Manager when authorized
Conduct business process audits, publish findings, make recommendations, and assist in corrective actions when required
Aggressively pursue improvement in reporting accuracy and effectiveness, operational controls, policies, and procedures
Schedule and chair regularly scheduled and ad-hock operational reviews, improvement meetings, and project meetings
Support the Program Management organization and Site Operations as assigned; interface with IT and other New Breed organizations as required
Conduct or participate in operational reviews, and support process improvement initiatives
Establish / improve data collection measures; validate accuracy of information
Provide guidance to site operations management, and process managers to detect problem areas in real time and take timely action
Develop tools, reports, techniques, and / or assist in implementing reporting systems for operations support, including but not limited to:
An efficient real-time labor utilization program
Ensuring reporting consistency, standardized formatting, and professional presentation
Process and issue documentation, review, and subsequent reporting and process enhancements
Manage preventive and corrective actions, to include:
Capacity, volumes, production plans, backlog reduction
Quality initiatives, inspections, re-work, etc.
Schedules and deadlines
Flow charts, training material, performance reports, other related documentation
The report Validations, QA process, timely event scheduling, preparation, progress tracking, posting and distribution
Publishing action item / continuous improvement activities, and tracking target dates to completion
Issue regular updates / reports on operational performance, process deficiencies, training issues, including changes, priorities, progress, and new training requirements
Support training and quality assurance with historical data, lessons learned, and documentation
Work with functional area managers and other analysts to ensure operational performance, and share lessons learned and best practices among all areas
Assist in defining long-range process improvement requirements and specifications to IT
Provide ad-hoc reports, conduct research and special analysis
Perform other duties as required
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Minimum Associates degree in Business or related field
APICS certification preferred; knowledge / experience with Lean Principals desired.
5 years of experience in supply chain management, including warehousing, inventory control, production, quality, and / or distribution systems preferred
