GameFly is looking for a Data Analyst to join the fun and innovative environment at GameFly. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working as a Data Analyst. The Data Analyst will monitor reports (daily, weekly, monthly), create ad hoc reports for all levels of the GameFly team (CEO, Finance, Operations, IT, Marketing, and CS), and will serve as a backup to the Senior Data Analyst. Due to the rapid growth of our business, we need an individual who is highly adaptable and versatile.
Core Qualifications
Strong knowledge of SQL Server database programming (T-SQL, Store Procedures, SSIS Packages, etc.), including working knowledge of relational database best practices.
Experience working on large systems with heavy data requirements.
Knowledge of database monitoring and performance tuning best practices.
Strong technical background together with the ability to work closely and cooperatively with development staff.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and possess time management skills to complete simultaneous tasks.
Knowledge and experience of validation techniques, quality standards, and metrics.
Ability to work in a self-driven, complex environment with multiple and changing priorities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Desire to learn and use new technologies.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and maintain corporate reports and data extracts.
Solve complex database issues in innovative ways.
Manage highly visible production databases in a high-uptime environment.
Perform standard database administration tasks, such as migrating databases, changing server configuration parameters, performance tuning, and dropping/adding logins.
Develop, test, and implement SQL scripts.
Evaluate SQL code created by developers and identify any solutions to optimize their code.
Automate database processes where appropriate.
Lead complex database related technical tasks involving more than one DBA, identify potential issues, resolve issues, and drive tasks to completion.
Participate in the DBA on-call rotation.
Technology
Familiarity with the following Languages/Technologies:SQL Server 2005 - 2012, T-SQL, Store Procedures, DTS Packages, SSIS, SSRS, Database Mirroring, Database Snapshots, .NET, Jira, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, and XML
Experience
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years experience analyzing data, documenting and reporting business requirements, processes and operation outcomes, and developing reports.
Experience in developing custom reports/databases of varying complexities.
