Data Analyst - Sales, Finance, and Operations Jawbone
The Analytics Team at Jawbone is the hub of big data activity within the organization ? acting as a strategic service and partner to Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and others. Jawbone is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to play an integral role in achieving Jawbone?s Hardware + Software + Big Data vision. The right candidate will demonstrate a balance of business experience and acumen with deep analytical capabilities.
Core Data Analyst Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating ?self service? interactive dashboards for designated internal ?client? group (ie. Sales, Finance, Operations)
Utilize advanced data analytics tools and techniques to build periodic trend analysis reports, presenting insights and findings that are business-relevant and visually appealing
Develop expertise in designated functional area to provide proactive ?deep dive? analysis into metrics trends and anomalies, continually mining insights to drive product and operational improvements
?Connect the dots? for the organization by marrying data from across disparate parts of the organization
Contribute to the development of tools and capabilities to create a truly ?data-driven? culture ? making data and insights part of everything we do
Use strong competency in data visualizations and infographics to deliver the ?so what? to the organization, and tell the ?story? of our business and customers
Specifically for Sales, Finance, and Operations Data Analyst:
Prepare quarterly forecasts for current and future product unit sales, including short-term forecasts (6 quarters) and long-term plans (up to 5 years)
Develop unit demand forecast models based on sales trends for Jawbone products, their direct markets (e.g., speakers, headsets, health) and their associated products (e.g., smartphones, tablets, etc.)
Optimize quantity and mix of products for each retail channel partner with help from the Sales team
Perform data analysis on pricing, promotions, sales strategies, and marketing program success in order to enhance future strategies
B.A., B.S. or equivalent degree
Expert SQL, MS Excel (with VBA), and Powerpoint/Keynote skills
Experience with Netsuite API; Analytical/Statistical tools, languages, or libraries (SAS, SPSS, R); and ETL, BI and Visualization tools/software (GoodData, Tableau) a plus
Previous experience in Investment Banking or Consulting a plus
