About the Team
This Finance team works closely with other members of the Finance Department to provide service to all employees and outside vendors.
About the Job
Under minimal direction, the Data Analyst will provide management and individual contributors with information that will facilitate improved performance. Using a thorough understanding of relational database theory and practice, the Data Analyst will create and maintain data structures that will support existing applications and continued development of new ones. The Data Analyst will use business analysis to improve existing methodologies and inform management where improvements are necessary. The Data Analyst is also responsible for creating ad hoc reports for management.
Maintain database structures in SQL Server to facilitate reporting framework.
Prepare and distribute accurate and timely reports to both management and staff using multiple software applications (SQL, Excel, Access, QlikView).
Develop QlikView applications and models.
Prepare written documentation on data analysis and reports developed.
Prepare raw data for further analysis and respond to ad hoc inquiries.
Gather and document reporting and analysis requirements.
Act as a liaison and technical resource for other users of technology within the company.
Ability to balance multiple priorities.
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field. 7 years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
3 years? experience in Information Technology, minimum of 2 years in a reporting environment
Intermediate SQL Server database skills
Ability to write/understand SQL queries to access data in a MS SQL environment
Extensive experience querying large, complex, and raw data sets
Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel and Access
Familiarity with metrics and trends
Strong analytical thinker with problem solving skills
Must be detail-oriented and focused on data accuracy
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and information
Build strong working relationships with coworkers and company management.
Education: Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field
Expert in SQL 2005-2008 and SQL Server administration
Expert in SQL Stored Procedures. Functions and query optimization.
Expert in Excel and Access
Extensive experience in IT and Reporting
Prior experience in reporting in a call center environment a plus
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and set and keep to priorities
Demonstrate strong communication and team and customer collaboration skills
Experience with Data Visualization tools such as QlikView or similar BI tools
