Who We Want:
The Data Analytics Engineer develops and supports data-driven tools, metrics and insights for Bazaarvoice's hosted online community solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Social Analytics technical property including AWS and VMWare
Provide support for ongoingand ad-hoc data request from internal and client stakeholders by writing SQL queries and creating automated reports
Develop web interfaces for automated reporting tools and data-driven dashboards
The Data Analytics Engineer role is demanding and requires exceptional analytical, business and technology skills. We are looking for candidates who are truly passionate about servicing our clients and who have strong analytical skills coupled with industry experience.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
The ideal Data Analytics Engineer has extensive systems and ETL experience and meets the following requirements:
BSEE or BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Science Related
Demonstrated analytical background and knowledge of statistical analysis methods
3+ Years with Linux and Windows Administration
3+ Years with SQL, RMDBS, Excel, Access
3+ Years with scripting including Shell/Batch, PERL, Python
2+ Years with web service architecture including SOAP, Rest/Json
2+ Years with web applications developing including PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, DHTML, JSON
Familiarity and preferably expertise with MapReduce architectures such as Hadoop/Hive/Pig
Attention to detail, highly organized, with an absolute focus on quality of work
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, and be self-sufficient in managing tasks
Positive, self-starter attitude and desire to exceed expectations at every opportunity
Authorization to work in the U.S.
