The Sr. Director of Data Architecture ensures that Medivo?s data assets are supported by a sound data architecture and infrastructure, that aid the organization in achieving its strategic goals. The scope of this position covers all databases, data integration interfaces from/to other sources and access to the data.
Medivo?s Data Roadmap
Define and maintain Medivo?s data roadmap across various dimensions (data model, tools, interfaces, standards, etc.)
Conceptualize, quantify, justify, prioritize and launch various projects to execute on the Medivo roadmap
Stay abreast of technology developments, client and industry developments and use this information to modify the roadmap as appropriate
Be cognizant of the future technology direction, how that direction will impact the enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise.
Drive issues of infrastructure as it relates to data: sizing of capacity required, issues of speed and ease of access for internal/external customers, etc.
Drive vendor/software selection by coordinating with all internal stakeholders (business, finance, IT, etc.)
Define & implement the data interfaces into/from Medivo?s data infrastructure as well as the selection of the appropriate tool to manage these interfaces
Provide leadership to projects managed out of the Data Management group
Act as key contributor to all other IT-projects with implications to Medivo?s Data architecture
Maintain a dashboard of all data-related projects with ongoing status, to inform all other Medivo stakeholders
Work closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future plans and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment, the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of new products.
Medivo?s Data Model
Drive the design, documentation and maintenance of Medivo?s data model, across all constituencies and systems
Map logical flows of data against business processes, sources, owners, consumers, integrations. Understand the business context, usage and priorities of data objects.
Publish centralized data definitions, standards, relationships and hierarchies and document the data model in Medivo?s data dictionary
Ensure data model is in keeping with industry standards
Lead the ongoing Data Governance Team, ensure effective data stewardship & advise on data management policies and procedures
Data Quality and Enrichment
Ensure the integrity of Medivo?s data asset by running quality tests and implementing process improvements to fix data quality issues
Identify risks to data integrity and opportunities to streamline data flows
Drive data enrichment by matching Medivo?s data with other outside sources
The successful candidate will:
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
Design and create solutions and then translate into logical and physical data models culminating in end state solutions
Be able to gather complex business requirements from business clients and create solutions
Have strong collaboration skills, communication and influencing skills
Deliver quality work on time with multiple, competing priorities
Possess the ability to articulate the benefits of an approach to a client and solution sell, verbally and through the creation of marketing materials
Demonstrate capacity for learning quickly in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Possess full life-cycle experience on large/complex enterprise project(s)
Have experience in leveraging an assortment of data modeling techniques, including star schemas, Kimball methodologies and ETL strategies
Demonstrate the ability to think ?outside the box? and to 'see the big picture'
Be detail-oriented and result-focused with total commitment to team success, excellence, and quality assurance
5+ years experience as a database modeler with both relational and dimensional modeling
Experence with Full software development lifecycle
Experience with Database technologies, Data Modeling tools,Data Warehouse methodologies, OLTP, OLAP and DSS implementations, ETL design and implementation experience, N-tier technologies
Oracle and/or SqlServer or other mainstream database technology
Experience with best practices and methodologies in data design, conceptual and logical modeling, Metadata / Ontologies
Experience with Business Intelligence and/or Analytical tools(e.g. Business Objects, Cognos, SAS or Other)
Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems or other technical degrees
Healthcare industry experience a strong plus
