Manage and operate E2Open Data centers to keep E2open?s sites up and running 24x7x365.
Manage efficient power distribution in the data center and plan for future requirements.
Manage all hardware related concerns effectively and promptly, plan proactively for hardware requirements to meet customer demands.
Manage new hardware deployments while improving overall efficiency of the data center
Be the go to person for Hardware related questions and drive the future needs on hardware requirements in the Data Center.
Assist in building, maintaining and upgrading a multitude of Sun, Linux, Storage and Network systems
Provide integration and test development support.
Be the remote eyes and hands for team members, customers during deployments and troubleshooting.
Manage contractors and vendors that perform work in the Data Centers. Institute and maintain maintenance contracts for equipment.
Perform on-call duty and rotation into the Operations team.
Bachelors in any of the engineering disciplines and/or Technical certification in systems management/administration or equiv experience.
5+ years of system administration experience with at least 3+ years of Data Center management experience.
Expertise in managing Data Centers in co-lo facilities.
Expertise in understanding power demands for various hardware and thorough knowledge in identifying the power standards required.
Expertise in various hardware systems from Dell, IBM, SUN, Netapp etc. Work experience with Dell blade enclosures is a must.
Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex relationships between various components in a data center (Network, Storage, VMware, Blade enclosures).
Experience with at least one UNIX flavor of operating systems is a plus.
Experience working in a SAS environment is a plus.
Ability to communicate effectively with management and technical teams.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Commitment to quality and exceeding customer expectations.
Due to the nature of the position, must be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead.
Due to the 24x7 operations of the facility, must be able to work at flexible work schedule, may include nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
