This position will report to Infrastructure manager in Irving, TX. and assist in the installation and administration of server hardware within a data center environment. This position will work with the Application engineering groups to be the needs of the hosted applications.Qualifications:
Experience with the Windows Operating Systems (required)
Strong Linux skills (desired)
Minimum of 5 years ?hands-on? experience supporting Microsoft Windows server environments.
Minimum 5 years experience supporting Windows Server 2008, IIS, and SQL Server
Experience administering a VMWare infrastructure is a plus
Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a production support environment.
Demonstrated facilitation, communication and presentation skills
Superior user documentation and training skills
Ability to navigate and interact with all levels of personnel within an IT organization from technical to high level executive management.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical certification required
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Key responsibilities
Be one of the point of contacts for all new server builds, additions, deletions, and changes
Coordinate maintenance activities on the systems to keep the operating system on supported patch levels
Work with Engineering Teams to ensure their equipment needs are met
Utilize the trouble ticketing system to track hardware problems and resolutions
Establish specifications for equipment acceptance hand-off
Participate in NOC project tasks as needed
Ability to work 'on call' outside of normal business hours
Top 5 Skills:
Windows Server background - Certifications preferred
SQL Installation
Hardware troubleshooting
Experience with Cisco Network products a plus
Experience administering VMWare a plus
