Data Center Responsibilities Include:
-Promptly cover a 11am-8pm shift.
-Participate in an on-call rotation one week out of the month (or more on rare occasions).
-Maintain a high degree of self-motivation and independent decision-making.
-Must be able to work in a team, communicating effectively and efficiently.
-Rack and stack data center equipment such as: enclosures, servers, network and storage equipment as well as any specialty customer hardware.
-Maintain and implement defined cabling procedures.
-Follow defined shipping/receiving procedures.
-Updates asset management tool to ensure accuracy.
-Troubleshoot and/or replace failed hardware and escalate to vendors as needed.
-Coordinate remote hand support at non-local data centers.
-Accurately follow infrastructure documentation to complete daily tasks.
-Deploy and troubleshoot OS deployments on HP and Dell servers.
Operating System Deployments
-Deploy images to server base.
-Review completed job for errors.
-Perform post install setup based on customer needs (set IP, hostname, partitions, create users, etc.)
-Accurately update customer documentation.
Technical Skills
-1 year experience supporting/maintaining Windows Server 2003 and/or Windows Server 2008.
-1 year experience supporting/maintaining RHEL5 and/or RHEL6 (CentOS, Debian, OEL, and other distributions are acceptable).
-Understanding of the TCP/IP model including application layer protocols (DHCP, DNS, FTP, NTP, SSH, and Telnet).
-Experience supporting Dell and HP servers a plus.
-Imaging, scripting, and Red Hat Kickstart experience a huge plus.
