Axioma is currently seeking a developer to work in our Content Development department. This position requires working closely with researchers and analysts in the company from various locations around the world, eliciting business requirements, designing and developing systems to process a variety of vendor data feeds, implementing tools and utilities to support daily risk model generation workflow, and supporting and maintaining these systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, willingness to work with financial data, work collaboratively with diverse teams across the globe and be available to maintain and support the tools and utilities that they build. The position is based in our New York, NY office.
The candidate is expected to be proficient in software development, with specific responsibilities including:
Working with several data feeds from vendors in a variety of different forms
Interact with business and content analysts to understand the workflow and build tools and utilities to represent the same
Develop internal testing tools
Ongoing support of the production systems that support the daily risk model updates
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proficiency in Python (Experience with numerical package such as numpy, pandas a plus)
Experience with SQL
Experience on Linux or other Unix platforms
Experience with web development frameworks such as Django
At least 2 years of software development experience (exclusive of academic work)
Strong quantitative skills and analytic abilities
Excellent oral and written communication
B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Computer Science or related field
Other Skills: (Candidates having the following skills and experience will be given highest consideration.)
Experience in the financial services industry with responsibilities similar to those described here
Experience in commercial software development
Experience working with financial data in a relational database
Experience with Perl and/or Java preferred
