Data Mining / Analyst Manager Decide

We're creating a unique data scientist position that sits at the intersection of science, engineering, marketing, and journalism. Your primary focus will be to help build decide's brand as the leader in the science of shopping. You will do this by extracting, scrubbing, exploring, and interpreting vast quantities of pricing and product data that we've collected over the years. In conjunction with our marketing team, you will be responsible for communicating and visualizing actionable insight that will help consumers make the right purchasing decisions, and save money while doing so. In additional, you will also work closely with the rest of decide's data science team in applying your findings to improve our core products and underlying algorithms.
Requirements:
3+ years working experience
Background in statistics, economics, math, computer science or other quantitative field
Technical skills (python or other scripting language, sql, hadoop)
Familiarity with Unix-like environment and tools
Strong communication and writing skills
Creative thinking
Self-driven
Experience with AWS (or willingness to learn)
Expertise in Machine learning, information retrieval or related field (not required by preferred)
Java, scala (not required but preferred)
