Have you ever wanted to take some data set and build stunning, interactive visualizations on top of it?Have you ever thought that the world would benefit from an application that provides true data transparency into some data set?
Have you ever wished someone would pay you to make the above a reality?
If you answered yes to the above questions, you want to work for us as a Data Product Developer. Your responsibilities will be to use Metamarkets? data processing infrastructure to provide real insights into a data set of general public worth. Your sphere of influence will be all encompassing, including the choice of data, the choice of visualizations and the actual execution and implementation of the vision.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be a self-starter who can define their own goals and work to complete them. You will need to have a strong understanding of Javascript and experience interacting with RESTful services (JSON over HTTP) in order to build a website. Experience with the full product lifecycle of a consumer-facing website is also necessary.
All applicants must be able to work on site.
Core Technical Skills: Javascript/Coffeescript, Node.js, D3/Protovis, JQuery, HTML5, CSS, Passion for Data
Nice to have experience:
Creation of a product built primarily on APIs
Management of large-scale data sets
