Under the supervision of the VP of Information Technology, the Data Quality Intern will be primarily responsible for using/generating reports to facilitate the identification and cleanup of bad data records. The intern will support ongoing IT security audits, aid in system data cleanup, and the implementation of data quality solutions while performing other assigned tasks as needed.
? Utilize data management tools to analyze, query, manipulate and correct data according to defined business rules and procedures. Assist in the update/maintenance of databases with reviewed and corrected data.
? Make recommendations regarding procedures, standards and metrics for increased data integrity.
? Document business rules and data quality impacts with assistance from affected groups.
? Identify programs to use or create new programs for data mapping.
? Prepare reports and track trends.
? Perform other assignments as requested.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree is preferred in Health Information System or related field is a plus
Experience in the data quality and management fields
Experience the following activities profiling, parsing and standardization, cleansing, matching, identifying, linking or merging, and data enrichment
Experience supporting data consolidation, data migration, and MDM projects
Technical Skills Required:
Demonstrate experience with Excel pivot tables, SharePoint or Business Intelligence tools.
Exposure to DQ products: Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), Informatica IDQ/IDE/IIR, IBM IA/DS/QS, Trillium TSQ, Embarcadero, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Office Excel 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Office 2010 PowerPivot for SharePoint, IBM Cognos, SAP Business Objects XCELSIUS, Sybase IQ, Oracle Hyperion.
Understanding of ETL processes, RDBMS, Client-Server architecture, and Web service/SOA
Requires ability to focus on many tasks and requests at once.
Self-starter, self-motivated, adaptable, able to work with minimal direction in a high pressure environment.
Strong organizational and collaborative skills, good attention to detail, time management skills and personal initiative.
Ability to read and write in the English language, effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to convey complex technical information to a group of peers.
Ensure proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting of documents.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Extensive use of the computer and keyboard for most of the workday.
Requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work in a face paced, high energy environment.
