Airbnb is seeking a talented and proven analytics expert to help investigate our data. The candidate would be a part of our extraordinary data science team, and would work cross-functionally to help the rest of the company understand problems ranging from forecasting growth in markets around the world to fraud modeling to product development. We look for people with strong quantitative training, substantial experience in data manipulation, savviness with modern tools for working with unstructured data and automated processes, a passion for visualization, and the ability to communicate results clearly to non-technical colleagues. Bonus points for having mastered a programming language. If you have a detail-oriented, creative mind and love complex challenges, we want to hear from you.Qualifications:
2+ years professional experience
Proven achievements resulting from data analysis
Degree in computer science, applied math, physics, economics, or other quantitative science (graduate degree a plus)
Experience with languages used for querying (e.g. Hive/Pig/SQL), preprocessing (e.g. unix/python), and statistical analysis (e.g. R/Matlab/Stata)
Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments.
Nice to have: experience with machine learning, natural language processing, time series analysis/forecasting, GIS, survey design, creative data visualizations.
