Data ScientistThe Data Scientist will develop methodologies and processes that deliver actionable analytics and insights to key business partners using state of the art big data tools. Work will include development of scalable metrics, deep-dive data studies, designing A/B tests, and handling ad-hoc data requests from platform, marketing, game, and executive teams.
Our data scientists are passionate about data driven decision making and understand how to transform raw data into concise intelligence that drives the business.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with business partners to understand their business model, be a thought leader as to the opportunity our rich data sets provide.
Develop scalable processes and metrics that guide business decisions. Use NoSQL technologies like Pig, Hive, Native M/R to perform ad-hoc analysis and deliver new insights.
Requirements:
B.S. or higher in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or another technical degree.
Strong background in statistical or mathematical modeling.
Very strong SQL/HiveQL skills.
Scripting experience ideally in Python, Ruby, or Javascript. Experience on Unix/Linux OS.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
History of working in fast-paced environments.
Ability to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel.
Enjoy playing games.
Ideal:
Pig/Hive/Hadoop/HBase or other NoSQL experience.
Coding experience in modern language such as Java or Scala
Experience with Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, and Data Mining.
Deep understanding of large data sets and big data.
Other degrees in economics or behavioral sciences a plus.
